A tribute to Pat Dake
Almost 30 years ago Pat adopted her first Clumber and she has been a bright, smiling presence in the breed ever since. There are many favorite Pat stories people love to share. Starting with Cricket in 1980 she worked with and for Clumbers, encouraging others to enjoy all aspects of the breed. Pat showed her own dogs to AKC championships meanwhile adding obedience titles.
Obedience training has always been very important to Pat and Alan. They taught it to others and used it themselves, knowing that the time together is good for both owners and dogs. With three Clumbers, Ripley, Belle and Jake (inherited from her good friend, Kathy Willey), Pat made high in obedience trials at National Specialties.
1995 was the year a few area Clumber fanciers decided to form a regional club. Pat was the first president and remained so through the formation years. With a good dose of common sense and a great sense of humor, she led our club to AKC recognition. Even after Pat and Alan moved to Missouri she continued to be active in Williana. Thanks to her our Specialty silent auctions have been a big success.
On behalf of all the human lives she touched, and for Cricket, Ripley, Boodles, Belle, Jake, JJ, Ginger Snap, Déjà Vu, Dazzle and all of the other Oakvue puppies, we thank Pat for caring, for sharing and for being.
